“Eating healthy food fills your body with energy and nutrients. Imagine your cells smiling back at you and saying: “Thank you!”.”

– Karen Salmansohn

How does the quote above resonate with you?

Pause for a moment and free yourself of distractions:

...Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

What does eating healthy mean to you?

...Think about that seriously for a moment... formulate an answer...

What do you consider to be healthy foods?

...common sense goes a long way here, but healthy means different things to different people... be honest with yourself...

What is a healthy diet?

...how would you put that into one sentence..?

Ann Boroch, certified Nutritional Consultant and Naturopath defined a healthy diet this way:

A healthy diet is one that consists of organic fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, raw nuts and seeds, beans and legumes, unrefined oils and sweaters, fish, and meats that are free of hormones and antibiotics.

What does organic mean?

The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. In the U.S., organic crops must be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes (GMOs), petroleum-based fertilizers, and sewage sludge-based fertilizers.

Organic livestock raised for meat, eggs, and dairy products must have access to the outdoors and be given organic feed. They may not be given antibiotics, growth hormones, or any animal by-products.

Why organic food?

We know that synthetic pesticides and herbicides used in genetically modified “designer foods” are carcinogenic.

Organic foods are more expensive, but you and your health are worth the investment!
