Much buzz, lot’s of talk and headline news lately as we continue to navigate through COVID-19 and are faced with the challenges of beginning another school year. So much to consider...
Conversation is healthy. I hope and pray that all voices can be heard and will be considered in the decision making process. Wherever you place yourself in the hierarchy the process, I challenge you to answer these questions. The perspective you bring is valuable:
How will YOU attempt to provide conditions for children to learn?
...children see and absorb more than you know... they are watching what you do, how you react.,, whether they're yours or someone else's children pay attention to adult behavior,,, think about it...
What do you envision to be safe conditions for school to reopen?
...what does safe mean to you,, what needs to change,,?
What staff, resources, and supplies must be on hand to ensure the health and safety of all students, teachers, staff and other adult personnel when schools reopen?
Think about this carefully for a moment... for the purpose of this question, forget about cost and budget implications, focus on need,,,
How will communication and procedures change when a student or staff member is discovered to be infected with COVID-19?
What plan is in place.... needs to be in place,,, how many other people, families will this impact..?
What if anything do you believe decision makers are forgetting to consider before schools reopen again?
