Wednesday Wisdom:

Coach Tavia

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” -Nelson Mandela

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions: Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Things have changed. As much as we can analyze and intellectualize what has happened, saying it was inevitable, I don’t believe anyone imagined living through this in their lifetime.

What are your thoughts?

The world has changed. The invasion of COVID-19 has forced us to look at the world and the way we do things much differently. Not a bad thing in my book. Think about it for a moment,.. focus on the positive things that have come out of this catastrophe:

1. What has changed for you during this forced shutdown that you hope stays this way?

2. What have you learned about yourself that surprised you?

3. What have you learned about the people you are quarantined with that you were not aware of before?

4. How have your relationships changed?

(Address them separately: Romantic relationships, Family relationships. Social/friendships. Business relationships)

5. What random act of kindness has someone done for you (big of small) during this time that surprised you and made you look at them in a very different way?

(It could be someone you know or a total stranger... think about it, and why it touched you)

6. Innovation and creativity are hot topics theses days. Think about it for a moment, how has COVID-19 tapped into the creative genius in you?

(Think about these areas: Social distancing and utilization of physical space, use of technology, hidden talents, meals/new recopies, forms of entertainment)

7. Routines, Processes, and Procedures: Where do I start? From juggling daily schedules, trips to the grocery store, standing in lines, new responsibilities, cleaning protocols... oh my. What have you put in place that is working that you plan to keep doing?

(Consider these 3 categories: 1. Personal Life, 2. Home Life, 3. Work life)

8. How have your priorities changed?  Think about what’s important to you... Are you answering that question differently now than you would have prior to this experience? why.... how so... Spend some time here, dig deep.

9. What one thing stands out as a defining moment for you... something that forced a positive change in you that you are proud of?

...Think about it ...Don't sell yourself short...

10. What event(s) from your past have equipped you to successfully deal with the COVID-19 fallout?

...Everything happens for a reason and you are alive to tell about it... don't take it for grated...

Change is often good. Don't miss your opportunity to celebrate positive transformation. Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

Today's Challenge: Build Stronger Relationships

  • Connect with a family member, a good friend, and someone you work with (3 connections, one from each category)

  • Choose 3 questions from the list above to answer and share (3 is the minimum)

  • Be creative and make time to share your answers in real time: in person, on the phone, or virtually (ie Zoom or FaceTime).

  • Keep it going. Challenge each connection to connect with three others.

Don't miss your opportunity to highlight positive change.

You got this! Coach Tavia
