“If you don’t do it excellently, don’t do it at all... if it’s not excellent, it won’t be profitable or fun.”

-Robert Townsend

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Excellent! We strive for excellence, right? We say we do...

In your own words, How do YOU define excellence? …your definition, how would you define excellence

From dictionary.com:

excellence /noun/

the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.

Iyanla Vanzant defines excellence this way:

Excellence requires commitment, a force from your soul. Excellence requires order, the first law of prosperity.
Excellence is flexible.
Excellence is cooperation with nature and the forces that be. When you are committed to excellence, the goal keeps you focused.
Excellence is the way to perfect your skill, create a demand, and put dollars in the pocket.

How do YOU demonstrate excellence? Sit right here for a minute... dig deep and formulate an honest answer...

Something to think about as we continue to become better each day. This article from addicted2success.com shares five rules to consider.

5 Simple Rules to Achieve Excellence in Your Professional Life

(by Nakul. Grover,addicted2success.com)

1. Success Is Predictable And Therefore Plan For It: figure out how other professionals are planning their success. Seek help from your idol, read about them and plan like them. Follow their footprints.

2. Work Even if You Don’t Want to Work: Successful people practice self-discipline rigorously. Studies found that most employees work for only three hours in their eight hour job. You can get ahead by working an extra hour or two in developing your skills.

3. Take Control of Your Responses: When faced with a problem, How you respond to a particular situation determines how quickly you are going to climb up the ladder of your professional career. You can develop a strong mental attitude while dealing with the problems.

4. Make Results Your Priority: Think in terms of how you can mend the situation and bring out the desired result. High achievers do not play the blame game. Embrace the situation as it is. You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, but you can change yourself.

5. Look For the Benefits in Every Situation: If you change your perception and look at problems as an opportunity to grow, then your life will immediately turn into an adventurous venture. Pay attention to how you are talking to yourself and the words you are feeding your subconscious mind.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

Today’s Affirmation:

I Am committed to excellence in all ways.

Now, what are you willing to do?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
