“The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment; it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone.”
-Orison Swett Marden
How do the words above resonate with you?
Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
Life is now my friends. It’s up to you to get your head in the game, or stay in the bleachers as a spectator. Iyanla Vanzant shares these powerful words of wisdom below that caught my attention:
If you sit there waiting for something to happen, when it happens over here, you will be sitting there.
If there is something you think will make you better off than you are right now, go find it. See the challenges, face the obstacles, pick up the stumbling blocks, test the waters, and imagine the very best that could possibly happen in every situation.
Everything happens twice. First on the inside, then on the outside.
How many times have you let an opportunity go by because you thought you were not prepared? Sit with this question for a moment... dig deep and be honest with yourself...
Our boundaries are self imposed. You can make improvements, change the game, and prepare for the next opportunity. Are you ready is the question.
How to Seize Your Opportunities and Take on Challenges: (by Dean Bokhari, lifehack.com)
Here are some ways to prepare yourself to seize the opportunity of a lifetime from the moment you recognize it:
1. Develop a Clear Vision of What You Want: Take a moment right now and imagine it. Even your physiology will respond to an image in your head as if it were reality. Your brain has a search function, just like your computer does. It’s programmed by what you focus on, what you identify with, and what you believe in. Develop a clear mental picture of what you want. Keep that vision in mind and imagine it regularly.
2. Set Goals: Your brain operates in terms of goals and results. Once you give it a clear goal to achieve, it automatically begins to look for ways to help you achieve it. Grab some paper, and write down exactly what you want and why you want it.
3. Take Consistent Action: Map out a detailed picture of what you want AND you combine that with action:
Step 1: Think About an Area of Your Life You’d Like to Change for the Better.
Step 2: Take This Vision You’ve Created in Your Mind From Step 1, and write it Down as a Goal. Be as detailed and specific as possible.
Step 3: Break That Goal Down Into Several Small Steps That Need to Be Taken for You to Achieve it. Decide on some sort of action you can take right now to make progress on your goal.
Step 4: Remain Consistent and Keep Taking Action. Once you’ve taken one small step towards your goal, you’ll need to set up another one. Along the way, you’ll notice different ideas and opportunities that you can leverage towards achieving your goal.
Now go out there and start seizing opportunities like a boss.
“If a window of opportunity appears, don't pull down the shade.” -Tom Peters
What fulfilled dreams are you creating on the inside that you will soon see on the outside? Now, what are you willing to do to make them happen...
Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
You got this!
