“Please excuse all crazy experiences... It is just life’s way of letting you know that things can, will and do get better.”

-Iyanla Vanzant

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Wise words from Iyanla Vanzant, one of my absolute favorite authors. If you are here and reading my blog today, you are a survivor. We have all been challenged over the past two years. We’ve learned to adapt to many changes and somehow make it work. December, the last month of the year, I am following Vanzant’s lead, and devoting it to PEACE:

You have survived life-threatening, life-altering crisis and challenge to prove only one point: that you can and have survived!
Be at peace with the way you proved the point.

Today’s Affirmation: I am devoted to bringing peace into ALL situations and experiences.

Question: What can you start doing today to bring order to the next stage of your life?

Think about that for a moment... It’s up to you...

7 Ways To Live A Peaceful Life (shinesheets.com)

1. Lower Your Expectations: If you want to live a peaceful life, consider lowering your expectations and let go of the urge to control everything around you. Focus on what really matters.

2. Don’t Lose Yourself: Take a good look at your life. Are you are on the path set for you by you, or others? If you desire a peaceful life, start by living life on your own terms. Chase your dreams, rethink the job you hate, act on your self-esteem, or get enrolled in college even if you think it’s too late.

3. Practice Tolerance: If you want to lead a peaceful life, broaden your horizons and become more accepting of the ever-changing world. Start respecting other peoples’ beliefs and opinions (instead of fighting them). Say no to discrimination, and practice being okay with “different”.

4. Give Up On The Urge To Control People: Try to accept the people who surround you, embrace their flaws instead of trying to change them, and strive to be a good friend. You’ll be on your way to a happier life right away.

5. Practice Forgiveness: For a peaceful life that is free of mental burdens, it is important to practice forgiveness for others and yourself. Don’t think of the past and don’t beat yourself for the mistakes you made. Instead, focus on the present day.

6. To Live A Peaceful Life, Prioritize! Make time for the people you love and the things you love to do – then a peaceful life won’t seem like a dream anymore.

7. Find The Peace Within: No amount of external tranquility can calm down the chaos in your mind. With some effort, you will get there and reclaim a peaceful mind. Disconnect yourself from your surroundings. Take time to meditate – even if for a few minutes daily. Pay special attention to the present moment. Breathe and fill your lungs with hope and peace.

“If a peaceful life sounds inviting, decide to change your world, and make a conscious choice to work for this change.”

What are you willing to do to live a more peaceful life?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
