"Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality."

-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Good Morning People,

How do Dr. Kings words resonate with you?

Think for a moment about the people that have touched your life... I know it's a very open question, but think about it....

Who is the first person that comes to mind?

What stands out about them?

Now... think about the one who you try to avoid... can’t stand the sight of them.. (Be honest.. ).

What did that person do?

What feelings surface when you think about them?

Breathe through this one and sit with it for a moment... until you have an answer...

Switching gears now...

If you could join the family of any TV sitcom, which one would you choose?

Give this some thought there are plenty of options...

Why that family... what is the attraction?

Who’s your favorite cartoon character of all times?

What is it about the character that you connect with?

What are you learning about yourself by answering these questions?

This right here is what I want you to focus on today...

Communication, relationships, connections, and how we connect with other's is something we take for granted, and many of us, especially in our work setting intentionally avoid connecting with others.

Research shows that the human connection has many Mental Health benefits: It

inspires and motivates, can build self-esteem,teach empathy and acceptance, creates a sense of personal value, reinforces a sense of identity, and aids in decreasing stress.

Today's Affirmation:

Every person that touched my life enriched it.  I am thankful for them.

I challenge you today to be present, and intentionally connect with others:

In your perspective places of work, talk to someone you don't know very well, or someone that you've noticed stays to themselves, Initiate conversation. You don't know what to say? Consider asking them one of the questions above. Have fun, keep it light. Connect with others and watch what happens!

You got this!
