Wednesday's Wisdom

Tavia Robinson

How many times do we talk ourselves out of what we say we really want?

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Do you use struggle and busyness to avoid handling aspects of your life that you ought to slow down and take a look a look at? Think about that for a moment...

Reading both Hendricks and Vanzant this morning, I was reminded:

Behind it all is fear.

Pause for a moment and reread the statement above. Don’t let fear win. Consider these strategies below:

5 Steps to Overcome Fear

By Phil Stutz and Barry Michaels thetoolsbook.com

1. Accept It: Fear never goes away. To a large degree what you accomplish in life, what you are capable of, is going to depend on how you deal with fear.

2. Identify It: To leverage fear into courage, you have to be honest with yourself every time you’re afraid. Look for the points in your life where you’re afraid, and see them as opportunities to learn to deal with fear.

3. Feel It: The greatest mistake people make when dealing with fear is to try to think their way through it. Instead, let yourself feel it. Then you’ll be ready to move to the next step.

4. Face It: If you turn around and face it, something good always happens. The Reversal of Desire tool literally reverses the desire to run away and gets you to face your fear and move through it.

5. Practice It: Try to think about confronting fear as a skill—something you can practice and get good at.

What are your excuses?

What is your deepest fear?

How is it holding you back?

What are you willing to do to set yourself up for the win?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

***If you are struggling with fear and not sure how to move forward. Send me a direct message and let’s schedule a conversation.

You got this!
