Hello all: Question for consideration...
How is your belief system keeping things from changing for your good? Think about that for a moment...
belief system /noun/
a set of principles or tenets which together form the basis of a religion, philosophy, or moral code. (from Oxford Languages)
Iyanla Vanzant refers to Belief System this way:
Those things you hold true about yourself and others.
A product of your experiences and perceptions.
Those things you have come to believe are true.
Your belief system determines your environment, your abilities, and the way you approach life’s experiences.
What do you really believe about yourself?
Take a look at the people, conditions, and situations in your immediate environment... they are the reflection of your own Belief System.
If your life is not going the way you would like and things need to change, consider these strategies to help initiate positive change:
How to Free Yourself from a Negative Belief System (dailynewyears.com)
1. Recognizing Negative Beliefs When they Occur: Pay careful attention to how you’re feeling. When you’re calm, recognize your negative self-talk and start to question it. This process can take a lot of deep reflection. Keep asking, “Why did I feel that way?” and “Why do I believe that to be true?” until you get to the center of the belief.
2. Define, Describe, and Name the Belief: One of the main reasons that negative beliefs have so much power over us is that often, we can’t clearly define them. When we learn to recognize harmful beliefs and then clearly define them, we remove the power they have over us. Once we learn to recognize and define our beliefs, we have to tell ourselves that they’re not true, and begin rebuilding our belief system with new, positive, life-supporting beliefs.
3. Rebuilding a Positive Belief System: Take step back, shine a light on your negative beliefs. Take a deep breath and start thinking about your new belief. Keep reciting it until you can calm down. This will become easier. It takes time and practice, so be patient with yourself.
“Believe something and the Universe is on its way to being changed. Because you've changed, by believing. Once you've changed, other things start to follow. Isn't that the way it works?” -Diane Duane
