Tuesday's Talk

Tavia Robinson

“... may your day be filled with practical magic and many miracles... may you transcend each and every one of your upper limits... and long may you glide the high currents of love, abundance, and creative contribution.”

-Gay Hendricks

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

What’s your creative contribution?

We are all creative in our own unique way. No question about it. Don’t skip the above question. Sit with it until you come up with an answer.

What’s your creative contribution? Don’t sell yourself short... did deep...

“Decide today that it’s not enough to simply live... live large, live exuberantly, live creatively, investing the smallest of your actions with the richness of your creativity.”

You are a creative genius! We get caught up in the business of life and forget the importance of having fun, and enjoying life. We unknowingly distance ourselves from the things that inspire us and and spark the creativity we are born with.

Creative geniuses have ,mastered the ability to combine their divergent and convergent thinking skills to continually produce innovative and novel ideas. A true creative genius is marked not only by their critical thinking skills but also by their ability to ideate and create. (Shawn Gold, CEO Pilgrim Soul Creative)

Creativity is the key! Here are 10 Tips to help you tap into your creative side:

1. Think back to when you were a kid: Remember what creative things gave you joy when you were young, then try those.

2. Meditation: Do some meditation focused on engaging your creative brain.

3. Music: A great source of inspiration. Listen to what inspires you.

4. Move: Take a walk, dance, get the body moving, breathe, the release of endorphins help tap into your creativity.

5. Connect with nature: take a walk, breath the fresh air, observe outdoors in its natural state take it all in.

6. Go beyond your comfort zone: Perform at an open mic... LOL... just a thought

7. Relax: Be effortless. The mind and body function on opposite laws. On the physical level the more effort, better result. On the mental level/the level of creativity, lesser effort, greater result. Don't force it.

8. Practice Presence: Be in the moment. Focus on the present moment.

9. Silence of mind: Balanced activity, rest and yoga can kindle skills and creativity in you.

10. Balance imagination and reality: Many inventions happened through certain imagination and linking that imagination to the present state of ground reality.

Today’s Challenge: Tap into your creative genus!

  • Identify one activity that is repetitive and boring in your life.

  • Think out of the box for a moment: What is one simple change you can make to it tapping into your creative style?

  • Have fun... Be silly... watch how your experience changes as you layer repetitive poring tasks with your creativity!

What are you willing to do?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
