Good Morning and Happy Holiday's...


This is a great time to talk about COMMUNICATION. The holiday hustle and bustle can often bring out qualities we may not be particularly proud of


How would you rate your success at effective communication?

Pause for a moment... Think about it seriously...


How have you been showing up?


By definition, communication is the process of passing information and understanding from one person to another... a process of transmitting and sharing ideas, opinions, facts, values etc. from one person to another. 4 types include, verbal, nonverbal, written, and visual.


Do you know your audience?


Have you taken the time to get to know the people on your team... Do you share or dictate.... Have your asked questions to get to know more about those you interact with...?


I challenge you today to intentionally work on improving your communication. Make it fun. Ask questions that will help you learn more about the people you work with. Open up the next meeting with an interesting question and have everyone contribute. Here are a few ideas to choose from to get the conversation started:


20 Icebreaker questions:

  1. Share a memorable gift-opening moment from your childhood.

  2. If you were served a three-course meal, what would you want for each of those?

  3. What is a Christmas song that makes you cringe?

  4. What is the coolest gift you ever gave someone?

  5. What is a phrase or quote that comes to mind that helps you when you are stressed?

  6. What part of your work environment is your favorite?

  7. If you could listen in on any room in the world, which room would it be?

  8. What is one thing you own that you wish that you didn't?

  9. What is one place you shop that might surprise people?

  10. You’re walking down the street, feeling great — what holiday song would be playing in the background?

  11. What kind of holiday shopper are you: Black Friday? Christmas Eve? Yearlong hoarder?

  12. If there were a moment in your life that you could do over, what would it be?

  13. What is your least favorite holiday side dish?

  14. What is the ugliest Christmas ornament you have ever seen?

  15. If you could be a character in a holiday movie, who would you be and why?

  16. What characteristic is most important to you in co-workers?

  17. When you close your eyes and think of your "happy place," where is it?

  18. If you could have any job in the world for one day, what would it be?

  19. What is a cherished family tradition from your childhood?

  20. What is your most embarrassing experience where you forgot an important piece of information?

What will you do to improve your communication with others today?



Let's be intentional... Start the conversation... Lighten up... Don't take yourself too seriously...
