“When I view this life as a game it allows me to feel more empowered. I acknowledge that my body is a vehicle with a ton of super, awesome powers, like my five senses, to help me navigate through the game. I see my "wins" as something that happens throughout the day, all day long.”
-Helen Edwards
How do the words above resonate with you?
Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
The “Life is a game” metaphor is one most of us are very familiar with.
In your life game, how do you determine who wins? Think about that for a moment...
Reading Iyanla Vanzant’s "Acts of Faith," this morning presented three keys to successful relationships:
“Nothing ever strikes without a warning.” -Danny Glover
3 Keys to Successful Relationships:
-Never make anyone else responsible for your happiness. Accept responsibility for the role you play
-Trust what your inner self feels, sees and says. Believe what your senses are telling you are true...
-Pay close attention to the warning signs. Listen to what is said, not what you want to hear.
Accept responsibility... Believe in yourself... Listen carefully...
How would you evaluate your relationship with “Life”? Dig deep... spend some time with this question...
“Once we understand that we are writing our own story, the game of life changes completely.” -Purvi Raniga
Today’s Challenge: The Life Game
from Gay Hendricks’, A Year of Living Consciously
1. Think of your life as a game:
As you move through your day, notice whether you are satisfied with the game you’ve created and the way you’ve chosen to play it.
2. Question to ask yourself:
What’s the purpose of this game? My game, my goals, my rules...
What role have I taken in the game? Spectator, Player, Captain, Starter..?
How am I playing? Passionately, halfheartedly, not at all..?
What can I do to set myself up for the win? Reflect, evaluate, adjust, strategize...
Set yourself up for the win!
“Your life is not a simulation; it's the real game. Play wisely.”
-Richelle E. Goodrich
