“I am totally, completely and fully responsible for what goes on in my life!”
-Iyanla Vanzant
How do the words above resonate with you?
Pause here and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
How responsible have you been for what goes on in your life?
responsible /adjective /
having an obligation to do something
being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it.
When I read the quoted words heading today’s message many questions rushed to my brain. Knowing the words to be true, but asking myself, do you really believe that... I had to reflect and think:
How can I take responsibility? have I taken responsibility..?
If I am placing the blame on others, and not taking responsibility than essentially I am giving my power away.
Vanzant clarifies responsibility this way:
As long as you can blame someone else, be angry with someone else, you are not taking responsibility for your life.
Sure there are situations, circumstances, social constraints and common elements that can affect you.
It is your responsibility, however to determine how and how long they affect you.
Today’s Challenge: Survey your life, Own your power!
(form Iyanla Vanzant's book Until Today)
Identify the areas in your life that are dysfunctional, challenged, or simply not as you would have them be.
Make a list of things you can do to create needed change.
Make a plan to execute the things you put on the list.
Goal: Take RESPONSIBILITY + Make a PLAN + EXECUTE = Peace, Prosperity, Success, Freedom...
What are you willing to do?
Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
You got this!
