“We have a responsibility to influence the people in our lives to be the best possible people they can be: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up"
How do the words above resonate with you?
Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
Where does your influence begin?
Think about that for a moment...
influence /noun/
the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.
positive influence:
the impact you have on another person (AND yourself) by pointing out strengths and virtues. It is how you are, what you do, and the power you have on others to value what is best within themselves. Positive influence helps a person be better today than they were yesterday. (kellerinstitute.com)
I found John C. Maxwell’s perspective on leadership and influence compelling:
Leadership begins at home. When leaders put their families first, the company, and community benefits.
When leaders put the company first, both their families and the company suffer.
If you have a family, put them first in your leadership. There’s no legacy like that of the positive influence leaders can exercise with their family.
What kind of role model do you want to be?
What values are important for you to share?
How will you influence others today? It starts with you... your choice... What are you willing to do?
Don’t miss your opportunity . Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
You got this!
