I started a new book, "Your Time to Thrive: End burnout, increase well-being, and unlock your full potential with the new science of Microsteps." It's a timely message as we long to get back to our lives, our jobs, and embrace a new normal.


What resonates with me, after reading the introduction, is how many of us set ourselves up for failure, fail, and then give up. Fear sets in and we no longer attempt that thing, whatever it was, again because we have convinced ourselves that we just can't do it.

Think about that for a moment... Does any of that sound familiar..?


The underlying philosophy of the book is with minimal time and effort you can integrate Microsteps with immediate benefits to your well-being, resilience, focus, relationships and purpose. Makes sense, right? Nothing new... So why do we continuously find ourselves in the aforementioned cycle?


Don't beat yourself up. You're human and can decide today to turn this around by committing to one little Microstep.


Today's Challenge: Focus on what you want from your day. Your choice. Your terms

*Before you even think about looking at your phone, turning on the TV, your computer, reading an email, or scrolling through social media, consider the following:

  • When you wake up take a few deep breaths... What are you grateful for? Let thoughts of gratitude fill your mind.

  • Read an inspirational book, listen to some music, or a ten-minute meditation of your choice

  • Stretch, take a shower, brush your teeth

  • Sing, dance, move, laugh, smile, get your coffee

It's all about you this time. Prioritize yourself. Others will be glad you did and so will you!


What are you willing to do?


Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
