Thursday's Thoughts

Coach Tavia

“It takes courage….to endure the sharp pains of self-discovery rather than choose to take the dull pain of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives.”

-Marianne Williamson

How does the quote above resonate with you?

Pause here a moment and free yourself from distractions:

...Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

How courageous are you?

...not easy to answer... on a scale of 1-10, what would you say...?

What have you endured so far that made a significant impact on your life?

...think about that for a moment... spend some time here...

If you are human, we’ve all had things happen we’d rather not relive and have had times in life where we could just look up to the heavens and scream, because you’ve had enough, and felt you could not take anymore...

Yet here you are. You survived, and all those moments have made you who you are today. It’s a beautiful thing and the world is a better place because you’re in it.

So tell me, who are you?

...describe yourself in a sentence that would let me know your significance...

Aristotle said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”

This is why the journey to self-discovery is so important.

Self-discovery | noun the process of acquiring insight into one's own character.

"Self-discovery" helps us to identify our abilities, but also how we can leverage and develop them. Because people can know what they are passionate about, it's easier to grasp the concepts and accept them. Thus we find paths that we want to pursue and will make us happier.

Thought provoking questions are designed to inspire self-discovery, empowerment and happiness.

Today’s Challenge: Commit to continuing the ever evolving journey of self-discovery.

Directions: Pick a question, write your answer in a journal. Find a partner that you are comfortable talking to. Share and exchange questions and answers. (If you prefer to do this activity alone you may,but share this activity with at least 3 people):

1. Where would you most like to go and why?...elaborate on the why...

2. Is it more important to do what you love or to love what you do? ...Think about this carefully, they are not the same thing...

3. What do you imagine yourself doing ten years from now?

4. If you could teach everyone in the world one concept, what concept would have the biggest positive impact on humanity?

Start the conversation. Share, connect, be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

How will you encourage self-discovery today?

You got this!
