Thursday's Thoughts

Coach Tavia

"A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives."

-Jackie Robinson

...Think about Robinson's words above...

Jack Roosevelt Robinson was the first African American to play Major League Baseball in the modern era. He broke the baseball color line in 1947 as the Brooklyn Dodgers' first baseman. Robinson won the National League MVP Award in 1949, played in six World Series including the Dodgers 1955 World Series championship game.

Robinson's character, his use of nonviolence, and unquestionable talent, challenged the bias of segregation in many aspects of American Life. His influence undoubtedly contributed significantly to the civil rights movement.

Among his credits, Robinson was the African American television analyst in MLB, the first black VP of a major American corporation, Chock full o'Nuts, and helped establish Freedom National Bank, an African American owned financial institution based in Harlem. There is much more I could add...

Pause here a moment... take a deep breath in... exhale slowly.... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Consider that time in history 1947... the struggle... yet, all Jackie Robinson Accomplished...

How does Robinson's quote above, resonate with you?

What impact are you making?

Who is it serving?

In reading this morning, John C Maxwell's, Leadership Promises for Every Day,there was a question posed:

Do you want survival, success or significance?

...Is that an easy question for your to answer.?. dig deep... its important to note for yourself...

The best leaders desire significance, and spend their time and energy going for it!

Question of the Day:

If you had unlimited time, unlimited money, unlimited information, unlimited staff,..

What would you do?

...think about it... no excuses...unlimited resources...everything you need...

What would you do?

I challenge you to go for it! Make an impact... follow your passion. When you know what you want, and can answer the question above, that's your dream. Acting on your dream, expending your time and energy in pursuit of it adds significance to your life.

Be intentional... encourage other to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
