Monday Madness

Coach Tavia

“Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be and he will become as he can and should be.”

-Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:

What do you expect?

Think about it for a moment...

What are your expectations?

...are they reasonable... realistic...

The truth is, we usually see what we expect to see in people and people generally rise to meet our level of expectations....

So, why not expect the best?

Today's Affirmation: I am open to receiving new possibilities.

3 Steps to Cultivating Positive Expectations: (from Positively Present)

  1. Recognize negative expectations. Realize the negative expectations when they start creeping into your mind. Pay attention to the way you are anticipating things to come and ask yourself. "Am I focusing on the negative? What are the 'what ifs' I'm dwelling on?"

  2. Change your thinking from negative to positive. Stop thinking about what could go wrong, and start thinking about what could go right. What you think can lead what actually happens so focusing on the positive will help create a much better outcome.

  3. Practice positive expecting. Begin your day thinking about all of the things that can go right today. Doing this on a regular basis will help you create a habit of expecting positive things.

Let's spend more time working on ourselves... Be honest with yourself and become more self-aware of the part we play in the environments we find ourselves in. As we make the shift to positive expectations and begin to create a more positive mindset Watch what happens!

You got this!
