“As long as you can find someone else to blame for anything you are doing, you cannot be held accountable or responsible for your growth or the lack of it.”

-Sun Bear

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

I was reminded this morning while preparing for a new month... a new day....

Accountability + Responsibility = Growth

Growth is continuous, and it is a choice. If we blame others, our circumstances or ourselves, we are essentially giving our power and control away. Think about that for a moment...

Iyanla Vanzant states in the book, Acts of Faith:

The only thing holding us in place right now are the things “we” do not do.

How can you take full responsibility and move forward to to places you want to go today?

responsibility /noun/

the state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone.

"a true leader takes responsibility for their team and helps them achieve goals"

“Don’t find fault... find a remedy.” -Henry Ford

Gay Hendricks explains in the book, A Year of Living Consciously:

One of the most powerful moves you can make is to learn to turn your complaints into requests or action.
Forget what’s wrong, let’s focus on what needs to be done.

Think about some of the complaints you’ve voiced recently. Focus on the top two:

How can you shift your complaint to action steps or requests?

accountability /noun/

an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions

What are you willing to do?

Don’t miss your opportunity! Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
