“You are playing on the court of life. Hopefully you have come to win!”
-Dr. Barbara King
How do the words above resonate with you?
Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
How are you winning? Think about that for a moment...
This question may be easy to answer for some... or maybe not. Recognizing the success of others is a much more natural experience. I believe we all would agree at certain times in our lives we may wish we were further ahead. Reading Iyanla Vanzant’s book, Until Today..., shared the message below that puts this life game in perspective:
The rules of life are quite simple:
1. Always tell the truth.
2. Never live in fear of anything or anyone.
3. Be conscious of what you are thinking so that you can always think positively.
4. Do everything that you do for the love of doing it.
If you devote yourself, your time and your energy to following these rules, have no doubt- you cannot lose!
“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”
– Vince Lombardi
