Iyanla Vanzant’s entry, in one of my favorite devotionals, proposes a challenge that I believe if one accepts, will benefit all. Vanzant writes:
I am willing to acknowledge everyone is completely capable and equipped to take care of themselves and handle their own problem!
Assume for a moment we are referring to those twenty-one years of age and older, in their right mind:
What would being the good news look like for you? Think about that for a moment...
No doubt we all have struggles. There are things that we could complain about, cry about, wish didn’t exist, and people that bring out the absolute beast in us.
How is focusing on what’s wrong serving you? What are you receiving form that focus...
Consider a different perspective. Vanzant explains:
You are the good news today!
You are going to be the compliment someone needs to hear.
You are going to be the encouragement someone has been waiting for.
You are going to be the smile someone needs to see.
You are going to be the big tip someone needs to receive.
You are going to be a prayer today.
You are going to make something out of nothing and do something good with it.
Say it out loud:
I am the good news!
What are you willing to do?
Don’t miss your opportunity! Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
