”May I stress the need for courageous, intelligent, and dedicated leadership... Leaders of sound integrity. Leaders not in love with publicity, but in love with justice. Leaders not in love with money, but in love with humanity. Leaders who can subject their particular egos to the greatness of the cause.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Love, justice, truth, and commitment...
What are you willing to commit to?
Today’s Challenge: Renew your commitment to authentic speaking.
Do your best to avoid putting even the subtlest spin on the truth.
*When you are ready to put words to action, and help dismantle systemic oppression in our education system here are questions to ask and present to those in position to make positive change:
How important is an inclusive education that meets the needs of all students?
Do you know what the racial achievement gap is in your school district?
School Boards, principals, teachers... how are you going to address the racial achievement gap?
Are your schools erasing the history and accomplishments of people of color from your child’s textbooks?
Are your children only learning about people of color in February?
“I just want to be there in love and in justice and in truth and in commitment to others, so that we can make of this old world a new world.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Don’t miss your opportunity! Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
You got this!
