Meaningful Monday

Coach Tavia

“Where there is no vision there is no hope.”

-George Washington Carver

How does the quote above resonate with you?

Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

What’s your vision?

...hummm

What do you hope for?

...think about that for a moment...

On the surface the two questions may seem easy... basic... but are they?

vision | noun the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.

Having a vision provides a sense of purpose and direction. Your vision will help you define your short and long-term goals, and guide the decisions you make along the way.

How would you articulate your personal vision?

... post pandemic, post revolution what do you want to see...

What short and long term goals can you put in place to get there?

...think about that for a moment... what action can you take...

hope | noun a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large.

What are you hoping for?

Your expectations... desired outcome... put it into words...

Often when one becomes overwhelmed with the pressures life can bring, our vision gets lost and what we once hoped for is forgotten. John C. Maxwell, in he’s book The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader, reminds us to listen to our voices:

1. The Inner Voice: Vision starts within. Whatever you pursue must come from the depths of who you are and what you believe if you expect to accomplish it.

What is your life’s mission,,, or mission or your organization?

2. The Unhappy Voice: Inspiration for great ideas comes from noticing what doesn’t work. Disconnecting from the status quo can be a great catalyst for vision.

What have you noticed that isn’t working and needs to change?

3. The Higher Voice: Don’t let your vision be confined by your own limited capabilities. Look for answers beyond yourself, even beyond your lifetime

Who have you sought for inspiration and help in continuing to move your vision forward? Who can you seek if you haven't already...

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time.

Vision with action can change the world.” -Joel A. Barker

What are you willing to do, to change this world we live in?

Today's Challenge: Refocus and revisit your vision!

  • Put pen to paper

  • Be guided by your 3 Voices: Inner Voice, Unhappy Voice. and Higher Voice

  • Post your vision statement

  • List at least 3 action steps to help you continue to move forward.

Make this a Meaningful Monday. Don't loose hope, remember your vision. Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens,

You got this!
