"We hardly ever realize that we can cut anything out of our lives, anytime, in the blink of an eye."
-Carlos Costeneda
I have an idea. Let's stop the "madness" and make Mondays meaningful. Who's with me?
In reading this morning, John C Maxwell talks about human nature and how it has become almost natural and automatic when one experiences failure or something goes wrong to blame someone else.
Think about that for a moment... If your honest with yourself its almost habitual...
When was that last time you said to someone:
Why did you make me do that?
What did you tell me to do that for?
That's your fault?
I knew that was a dumb idea as soon as soon as I heard it.
Chances are, it was not during a time when things were going well that you responded that way... Does any of the above sound familiar?
How can you turn this around?
Our goal in and and all situations should always be self-awareness and self-improvement. One sure fire way to increase awareness of self and to continue to become better is to take responsibility.
Today's Challenge: (Inspired by John C Maxwell's Leadership Promises for Every Day)
When you encounter failure or something goes wrong, try to look at it objectively so that you can do better next time. Ask yourself
Why did I fail? ...instead of who was at fault...
What Lessons have I learned?
How can I turn failure into success?
Where did I succeed as well as Fail?
To reach your potential, you must continually challenge yourself and strive to be better today than you were yesterday. Be intentional... Take responsibility... Watch what happens...
