“Stand in your true identity without guilt, defenses or apologies.”

-Iyanla Vanzant, "Until Today"

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Who are you? Think about how you would answer that question...

Reading Iyanla Vanzant this morning presented a much needed reminder. Sometimes we forget who we are. We begin to believe the things other people tell us we are or are not. Or maybe out of respect, we listen to our elders, parents, or some other authority and pursue dreams that aren’t really our own... Here we are, existing, surviving, but the spark isn’t there. We are missing out on happiness and really enjoying life.

Vanzant explains:

If you are defending the reasons, holding on to the excuses, offering explanations for why you are the way you are, you may never know the truth of your being.**
Through moments of disparity we surrender our humanness. We go to that higher force, the higher consciousness that is within us at all times.*
We would save ourselves a great deal of grief if we lived from the truth that we as humans can’t do it all.*
Through our higher consciousness we are a conduit. The higher consciousness moves us through racism, sexism, disease, poverty, fear, and confusion.*

Why not make higher consciousness a permanent residence? Think about that for a moment...

“Spiritual growth results from absorbing and digesting truth and putting it to practice in daily life.” -White Eagle

Raising Your Consciousness Requires More Than Hot Air:

(by Paul Ward, Forbes Coaches Council member)

With a higher consciousness, you can increase your confidence and your belief in your own capabilities, achieve greater personal and professional success and have a positive impact on the world.

1. Awaken. Become more aware of what is going on inside you, inside others and in the world around you.

2. Live mindfully. Consciously pay attention to your thoughts and feelings.

3. Set intention. Choose who you want to be and how you want to show up in the world.

4. Act consciously. Have a positive impact; be the best for the world rather than the best in the world.

Raising your consciousness requires waking up, living mindfully, getting clear about individual and organizational purpose and setting clear intentions for how you wish to show up in the world.

What are you willing to do?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
