Tavia Robinson

“Every time I judge someone else, I reveal an unhealed part of myself.”

-Anonymous

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Being judgmental, passing judgement... think about that for a moment...

judgment /noun/

  • the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing

  • a formal utterance of an authoritative opinion

Ask yourself: What is judgment revealing about me? Give that some thought...

Judgmental /adjective/

  • having or displaying an excessively critical point of view.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how judgmental are you? This is about you... dig deep...

In the book, Until Today: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind, Iyanla Vanzant shares an interesting perspective on judgement:

Your judgement shows that you resist accepting things the way they are.
A judgment is a means of control. An attempt to get people to do what you need and want them to do in order to feel better about yourself.
A judgement is a sign of fear. It is the foundation of discontent.
People are who they are and do what they do whether or not you like it or agree with them.
The only thing that judgement does is distract you from what you must do for yourself.

Affirmation: (from, Until Today: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind)

Today I am devoted to living without judgements! I am devoted to letting things be!

“No one likes feeling judged. Back off and let people live. We’re all on some type of journey, all evolving and growing.” -Anonymous

Today’s Challenge: Practice wonder language with each interaction!

(from Gay Hendricks, A Year of Living Consciously)

Use sentences like the ones below in your interactions, and notice the the reactions to it.

  • Learn to express yourself in “wonder language” rather than in the language of judging or proving.

    • I wonder what the best choice would be right now?

    • I wonder how everybody’s feeling right now?

    • I wonder what our most positive outcome could be?

    • I wonder (create your own...)

Free yourself from judgment! Interact with curiosity and wonder!

Judging is preventing us from understanding a new truth. Free yourself from the rules of old judgments and create the space for new understanding.”

What are you willing to do?

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
