“Hold on to your dreams of a better life and stay committed to striving to realize it.”

-Earl G. Graves, Sr.

How do the words above resonate with you?

Pause here and free yourself from distractions:

Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...

Earl Graves, Sr. , championed black businesses as the founder of the first African American-owned magazine, "Black Enterprise," focusing on black entrepreneurs. This trailblazer and leader in the American business community, paved the way for many other Black entrepreneurs to realize their dreams.

Consider Graves legacy, commitment and contribution to American History...

How can your commitment inspire others? Think about that for a moment...

To support you in responding to the above question, I share these strategies found on medium.com.

4 Steps To Help You Stay Committed And Inspired To Achieve Your Goals: (medium.com)

1. Create Successful Habits: Create daily habits that will draw you closer to your goal. If you’re aware of negative habits, replace them with affirmative ones.

2. Be Accountable To Someone: Consider using a mentor to help stay focused. Having someone else critique as well as make creative suggestions on areas for improvement can be advantageous.

3. Focus On Smaller Victories: Focusing on smaller victories along the way gives you the self confidence you need to forge ahead. It is self empowering and a testament you’re on the right path. Iron-out the creases before pursuing the larger goal. The opportunity to get it right in the build-up phase is more advantageous than getting it wrong when it matters.

4. Develop An Insatiable Hunger: Discover the reason for pursuing your goal.

  • Why do you want it?

  • Who will you become once you’ve attained it?

  • What will life look like when you’ve reached your goal?

Your goal needs to be so great that it feeds and ignites your soul with purpose and meaning.

“It takes a deep commitment to change and an even deeper commitment to grow.”

-Ralph Ellison

What are you willing to do? Your choice...

Don’t miss your opportunity. Be intentional. Encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.

You got this!
