“As if we could kill time without injuring eternity!”
-Henry David Thoreau
How do the words above, resonate with you?
Pause here for a moment and free yourself from distractions:
Take a deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... deep breath in... exhale slowly... calm your mind and be present...
How are you killing time?
Let's assume the previous question was not rhetorical...How would you answer it?
...think about it for a moment...
Playing games
Day dreaming
Staring at the ceiling
Sleeping
Cleaning
Working
Running
Crying
Praying
Arguing
Laughing
Not all bad and perhaps you have come up with some more productive options.
What am I getting at?
...what point am I trying to make?
What has become crystal clear to me as we move through uncertainty and change is time is a precious commodity. Time is invaluable, When you loose it, you can't get it back or make more of it. Let's not continue wasting it.
Think about your unique gift(s), your passion(s). dream(s):
How could you make better use of your time?
...what small thing can you do to get closer to making it happen...
What impact can you make?
...how can my unique gifts add value...
Today’s Challenge: Create a Life Purpose Statement for yourself!
Use this as a guide:
I am the: ________________________ (<Metaphor)
so that people: ________________. (<Impact statement).
Example: And this one is off limits, no cheating: I am the "alarm clock" that "awakens people to their magnificence".
Your statement should be:
Something compelling
Purposely motivating you to action
Creative, corny maybe, even grandiose, if it gets the point across.
Now picture your purpose paving the way for every step you take and every interaction you have today.
Have fun with this, it’s Friday. No time to waste... Don't miss your opportunity!
Be intentional, encourage others to do the same and watch what happens.
You got this!
